Relationship with Patients

I took almost fourteen years of schooling for me to gather all the tools I felt I needed in order to do the quality of work I always wanted to do. Now I work at The Center for Natural Health Care and Healing integrates the practices of Naturopathic Medicine, Homeopathic Medicine, and Acupuncture to provide a holistic and harmonized approach for our patients. Patients benefit from a uniquely designed program focusing on the individual or the family where communication is paramount.

Communication that occurs between me and my patients is a very important component of the healing relationship. I view my working relationship with patients as a partnership.

One of the skills I have is to be able to decipher which modalities will best treat the disease. With the modalities available to me, I am able to provide you with a program devised for your individual needs. People who have the same diagnosis may not necessarily present with the same disease state. In other words, their symptoms may be different.

My treatment would, therefore, address the individuality of their symptoms. In the twenty-one years I have been in practice, I have continued to deepen my understanding of how disease presents itself and what is required to obtain a greater level of health.

Acupuncture Treatment

Acupuncture treatment is the insertion of fine needles into the body at points shown as effective in the treatment of specific health problems also called acupuncture points. These points were mapped and studied by the Chinese for two thousand years. Recent electromagnetic research has confirmed their location. The Acupuncture is use in the treatment of Back Pain Berkeley, Digestive problems Berkeley, Women’s Health Berkeley and Insomnia Berkeley.

These acupuncture needles are far smaller in diameter (and therefore less painful) than the needles used to give shots, since they do not have to be hollow for purposes of injection. The upper third of these needles is wound with a thicker wire (typically bronze), or covered in plastic, to stiffen the needle and provide a handle for the acupuncturist to grasp while inserting. Most modern acupuncturists use disposable stainless steel needles of fine diameter 0.007" to 0.020", 0.18 mm to 0.51 mm, sterilized with ethylene oxide or by autoclave.

Traditional Acupuncture treatment is based on ancient Chinese theories of the flow of Qi and Xue (Blood) through distinct meridians or pathways that cover the body somewhat like nerves and blood vessels do. According to ancient theory, acupuncture allows Qi to flow to areas where it is deficient and away from where it is in excess. In this way, acupuncture regulates and restores the harmonious energetic balance of the body. In chinese there is a saying, “There is no pain if there is free flow; if there is pain, there is no free flow.”

Acupuncture treatment originated in China but has spread to Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Europe, the British Isles, and America. In different countries, different styles have developed based on opinions as to theory and technique. It is helpful if you talk to your practitioner about their particular style to learn as much as possible about the treatment being proposed.
